Muesli Slice
I've lost count of how many times people have asked me for this recipe! This sweet oaty slice really hits the spot. While it’s not the healthiest treat, it’s packed with fruit and texture to keep your sweet tooth satisfied for hours.
Makes 20 squares
Ingredients
- 250g sultanas
- 200g dried apricots, chopped
- 300g oats
- 140g plain flour
- 80g shredded coconut
- ¼ cup sesame seeds
- ¼ cup poppy seeds
- 250g butter
- 300g brown sugar
- 4 tbsp golden syrup
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan-forced).
- In a large bowl, mix together the oats, flour, coconut, sultanas, apricots, sesame seeds, and poppy seeds.
- In a pan, melt the butter, brown sugar, and golden syrup. Whisk to form a thick caramel sauce.
- Pour the mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
- Press the mixture into a deep, lined baking dish (9x9 inch or similar)
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the top turns golden.
- Allow to cool completely in the tin before slicing into squares.
