Slow Cooker Ham Hock Beans
This easy Ham Hock baked beans recipe uses three types of canned beans, is perfectly sweet with a kick of heat if you’d like and is made in your slow cooker! They are perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Ingredients
- 1 ham hock
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 1 cup diced tomato
- 3 cans of drained beans (1 can mixed beans, 1 can chickpeas, 1 can butter beans)
- 1 red onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, diced finely
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp chilli flakes (optional)
- 3 sprigs of fresh rosemary
Instructions
- Prepare the slow cooker by adding all the ingredients to it, then push the ham hock into the liquid. Insert the 3 sprigs of rosemary into the mixture.
- Place the lid on and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Leave to cool in the pot overnight.
- The next morning, remove the hock and strip all the meat from it, discarding the bones and skin.
- Place the diced ham meat back into the pot and stir through evenly.
- Heat the beans in a small pan and cook until the sauce has reduced and thickened. Serve.

- These beans are versatile and suitable for any meal.
- For breakfast, serve over toast with a poached egg or crumble feta over the top.
- For lunch, serve over a hot buttery baked potato with parmesan cheese.
- For dinner, serve over rice with garlic bread on the side.
